Maxxius Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 Guys is this thing possible? I have a legacy Google Apps (now aka Google Suite) for my forum domain. Can I somehow set up that BULK MAIL sent by IPS software be handled and send by google's email servers instead of php mail of my VDS server? I hope email deliverability would be much more greater and have no problems reaching peoples' inboxes. Any info on that would be appreciated 🙂
Morrigan Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 You can use SMTP. System > Settings > Email Settings Change it to "SMTP" and use your google account SMTP settings.
Maxxius Posted October 29, 2020 Author Posted October 29, 2020 is it truly that easy? wont the google mail to bonkers if I send a blast to 28k people?
Morrigan Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 That would be something on google's side. I think they batch them in 500 chunks. But that's the only way that I know of to use Google servers instead of PHP.
Maxxius Posted October 29, 2020 Author Posted October 29, 2020 Yeah I saw that 500 limitation on the google legacy terms page. so I mean that 500 is the max limit when sending emails in one go. I mean is this the one which IPS has as a default for 50 mails per cycle?
Joy Rex Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 I'm currently using SendGrid's Free tier, which allows 100 emails to be sent - has anyone tried using their Google for Business (e.g., your own custom domain email address) for this?
