Actually ignore the above, got it to work with V2.

Is there a way to show only the UK on the map as all my members are from the UK, or does it only show locations members are in? There is only 1 location now and thats where the map goes straight to.

Hi,

It automatically zooms to make markers fit in the viewport, so when your members add their markers, it will adjust so they are viewable.

  • That is correct. I have thought about making this a paid app many times before, both for the 4.4 and 4.3 version. And the price I'm placing on this now is the same I planned to put on it back then. (I

  • I'm sure you are able to export an entire folder as a KML or KMZ file. Most of the files I've tested with contains thousands of markers.  Yes. But I'll have to make quite a few changes in order

Ah right, I see that now.

Found a bug though... if two members put in the same location it puts both member markers on top of each other and when you zoom out it only shows it as 1 member.

If two members are in the (exact) same location, they should be merged into the same marker.

Hi,

I have recently upgraded to IPB 3.3 and now I find that if I try to add a custom marker, the "Find Address" dialogue box when you try to add the address is completely blank, so when you hit 'search' (which is all you can do), it gives you an error because, of course, you haven't entered an address.

I haven't tried to add a custom marker for a while, so I don't know whether the error is something to do with 3.3 or with the recent Google updates (or if I'm just doing something wrong), but would love to hear from anyone that either is having the same problem (ie. can reproduce the error) or anyone that has a suggestion for how to fix it

Thanks!!

Upgrade to the latest version of Member Map, 1.0.4 doesn't work on 3.2 or newer.

Does MM 1.0.7 works with IPB 3.1.4?

No, 1.0.4 was the last version for 3.1.x, 1.0.5 and newer are for 3.2.x or 3.3.x.

Works great here... Thanx much for this... Using 1.0.7 with IPB 3.3... One thing though, the link inside the ACP for the Google API key is outdated, they have changed it.. you might want to update that..for any future versions.

Is this 3.3.0 compatible? If not are you planning an update?

As you can see above, many people are using IP.Board 3.3. I have not had any issues reported.

okay thanks Stoo :)

I have it installed on 3.3 Seems to be working well so far! :)

Hi, I have this error that I attach. When I am viewing the map in my site, 3 seconds later appear this error and map hide.

In google I only active APIv3 service. And copy the key into ACP

I have 3.3.1 and 1.0.7 member´s map installed

Thanks!

You need to go to ACP > System Settings > IP.Board Member Map > General Configuration > Google Maps API Key

You can get the key behind this link

Ok, I fix it. for other people who have the same issue: I have add API V2 and V3 too and now (5 min later) function properly. Thanks!

Yes, Sorry.

Membermap still uses the V2 API at the present time.

Stuart

What would be the benefit of using V3 API? And are you planning to integrate it? In near future?

V2 is deprecated, it's no longer supported or updated, and at some point will be discontinued.

That is what worries me as I have (and probably most of us users) invested a lot of effort to make our members use the Member Map and dicontinuation would be very painful.. Do you have any plans in regards to upgrading the script? I believe for many of us it would be worth paying for such an upgrade rather than loosing the MemberMap.

I'm planning too, I was planning on working on a major new version with new features, however I've been short of time to work on it this year.

The API can be updated in a small release if needed, so don't worry about that. I wanted to do it as part of a bigger thing, but that may not happen yet.
  • 2 weeks later...

Good evening Stoo, I have looked through all 50 pages and there has been a mention here and there about whether it is possible to add a members location by a custom profile field. If it is possible how would it be possible to achieve this. I am not a programmer but I can follow instructions well. Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated

Kind regards
Rob
