I can only get the promotion buttons for Facebook, Twitter etc. to show in my non-password section of the forum it seems.
I have set permissions in every forum, but latest try was to copy settings from the forum it works in and pasted it to all forums.

As it works in parts of the forum I must have done something right, but would like to be able to share post to FB from all threads if possible.

Any help appreciated

If the area does not have guest access (such as permission settings, or password protection) then the promote button won't show as you'll effectively be sharing a "Permission Denied" screen over social media.
