if I click on the button "check for updates" the new version 4.4.0 will not be displayed. Is this correct?

How display the update ? I have click on the button "Check for updates" for the 4.4.1 version but i have not update notification.

Still no update for me, i have the v4.3.6, just a update message for 4.3.6's Commerce App, in the support tool "You are running the latest version, but an optional update is available to address the following issues:" 😞

You can manually download the update from your client area and upload to your server.

The "check for updates" may not be returning 4.4.x right now (until March 7th) because of a security patch we pushed out for 4.3.x. If that's the cause, then it should become available March 7th through the AdminCP normally.
