Change "edited by" time?

Hello.

It looks like I'm missing an well known option on forums, but it may be I'm just looking in the wrong place, can't find it.

When somebody wants to correct a typo or just add a few words to a posting after he/she made the posting, immediatly the "edited by" or "edited just now" is shown.

Is it possible somewhere to give a timeout for this to happen?

For example lets say  post something, and after that use the edit function to correct something, the "edited by" is only shown if I edit the post for example 3 minuts after posting, unless somebody else replyd in the meantime, which makes die "edited by" appear anyway.

So is there an option where we can set a timespan before which the "edited by" is not shown?

admincp >> groups >> far right of each group select the 'pencil icon' >> content tab

scroll down to editing section and make changes as required

if the 'can edit silently' is selected then when they edit a post they should see they have a choice to show the edited by or not

Remember that staff may be able to see the edited by but other members should not

Thank you for answering, but that is not what I asked.

I know I can change it to can edit silently in usergroups, but then the "edited by" is never displayed.

I would like to have it like to know if there is an option like on other forums, that the "edity by" only appears after a certain amount of configurable time for example only after 3 minutes or 5 minutes. So the user has a couple of minutes to fix typo's and add little things he forgot, without the "edited by" already appearing even after 10 seconds when maybe only a typo was fixed.

But that it does appear if he edits after that time, or if a user already reply'd when he was editting. Most forums have it like that, so I was searching for such option here.

In Vbulletin, PhpBB and SMF in any case, not sure about Xenforo.

In vB it looks like this:
