Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
LiquidFractal Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 Does anyone know if it's possible and, if so, where I can go to in the server files to change default themes for adminCP, members, etc? I can't get into my adminCP right now and I think it might be a matter of switching the default adminCP skin back to "IPS Support" or "Default," and if I can do that through CPanel or something that would be great.
Joel R Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 Is your CSS broken or something? If you're familiar enough with your ACP even with no theme files, you can actually kind of figure out how to navigate to the Support Tool. That, or send in an emergency support ticket.
LiquidFractal Posted December 16, 2018 Author Posted December 16, 2018 Thanks Joel....yeah, all I had was a themeless mass of links, but I managed to navigate through it to switch to IPS Default and make it the default adminCP skin, which fixed things. Previously, I had a slightly modified version of the IP default skin (but don't know why it crapped out). So now I have access, but I have this strange thing happening now where some images won't load. Example: on the adminCP signin page, the Invision logo no longer shows above the ID and password fields. Apart from all this, the live migration of my site has been pretty smooth. However, I'm not comfortable with this 100% so I wonder if it's possible to do a complete fresh reinstall of the IPS Default and Support themes. Just in case.

Tried a second time and my theme disappeared again! 🤯 I then tried logging into the adminCP using a different browser. Again, got no Invision logo; logged in fine, navigated to pages fine, but after a few pages I tried to go to Support and things crapped out again. In fact, after browsing a dozen pages in my adminCP with no issues, this seems to be confined to the Support page. I've been advised to upload a fresh 4.3.6 over my existing 4.3.6 and see if that resolves things, so I'm doing that now.
steve00 Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 If I recall correctly I found that happened a few times when upgrading via admincp so I now upgrade by downloading files and overwriting previous files via ftp when I upgrade

Go to Support page, fine. But if I clear the cache, that's when things break. The links still work and if I click, say, Dashboard I can make it back to the adminCP no problem. But the Support page is broken until I log out and log in again. After a fair bit of back and forth with Invision they were unable to reproduce the problem. It would seem it has something to do with my connection from Australia (I've tried it with a different modem and VPN and different browsers on different computers; no difference). And this was after uploading a completely fresh set of 4.3.6 files via FTP. I am He of the Strange Invision Errors. 🧙♂️
