I can see the mobile version but cannot find a way to view the desktop from my smartphone.

In Invision Community version 4, the theme is “responsive.” Which means it responds to the size of your screen, there is not separate themes per device. You shouldn’t “need” the desktop version on your phone as everything is there, just may be in a different location.
