Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Durango Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Hi, To optimize server charge, i would like to know what is the best Cache system to activate for Invision ? Thank you for your help,
bfarber Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 We have the widest support for Redis within the software, as it can be used beyond just caching. If I had to give a recommendation, it would be for Redis.
Durango Posted November 14, 2018 Author Posted November 14, 2018 Hi @bfarber Thanks, how do we activate it ? any technical requirement ? tx
bfarber Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 In the AdminCP you visit System > Settings > Advanced Configuration and review the various settings. You need the PHP Redis extension installed to use Redis (and of course will need a Redis server instance you can use).
The Old Man Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Thanks Brandon. Would be great to see some stats for Redis (and even some of the other intergrations) so we can see if it's working and how well.
bfarber Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Define "well". There are third party monitoring tools you can use to inspect Redis, and we do actually have a debug-level cache inspector where we can verify redis activity during page output. Beyond that, a new tool to get an overview of Redis use may make its way into the support area in the future.
