Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
ProSkill Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 One of my forums currently runs on a cloud VPS and the disk is just about full. I am wondering if it's possible to save attachments to a second disk attached the server, as I can't upgrade the OS disk, but I can add a second disk? If so how do I do that?
bfarber Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 You can go to the AdminCP -> Files -> Storage Configurations to reconfigure where files are stored, but you can't split files for a single type of storage (e.g. attachments) across multiple areas. Your existing files will be moved to your new configuration. Note that you might want to start using S3 instead of a local disk, which is also supported.
Joel R Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Some suggestions in no particular order: 1. You should immediately review your attachments in ACP > System > Files to see if you can clear out some unusually large files. 2. Once you change a filestorage setting, that will trigger a move of ALL items. 3. The next time you start up your website and have the luxury of planning ahead, you should integrate with Amazon S3 storage out the gate.
