Calendar suggestions

  • Have the event link on calendar widget jump to last page of event comments (or rather to last unread page of comments) - this is bugging my users who have to manually go to last page every time.
  • Let me move forum posts to calendar event comments and vice versa - not sure why it is not possible right now, I know different entities and such, but those are just similar text blobs.
  • Let me use calendar events comments in a post/topic flows, so that actively commented events can be listed alongside actively commented topics. More of the same, different entities, but similar stuff.

There have been lots of other productive suggestions for the Calendar app, including drag-and-drop event copying and deletion, pruning all events before/after a certain date or within a date range, etc....but Calendar seems to be last on the IPS love list.

I wouldn't say that - we've actually implemented many improvements for Calendar in the 4.x series (Venues and RSVP are two fairly big features implemented semi-recently).

What you say is true, and those are good features.  I was trying to say that I get the logic behind putting modules like Commerce first in the running for updates based on what users use more frequently; something has to be last in the lineup when you're prioritising, right?  But while I realise you can't do everything everyone wants at once, I do think the ideas that have been mentioned re: Calendar would make very good, practical modifications so that one doesn't have to reload the page every time one deletes an event, for example.
