jcdesign Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 As the title said. Is there someone who test the new php 7.2 Release candidate with WHM cpanel?
RevengeFNF Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 I don't use any Panel, but im testing PHP 7.2 RC6 with IPS 4.2.6 and it works flawless.
jcdesign Posted November 18, 2017 Author Posted November 18, 2017 It seems to working fine with 7.2 RC5
Ryan Ashbrook Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 If you do come across any issues on PHP 7.2, please feel free to let us know so we can fix them up. Internally, we don't see anything that is a major concern, however we can miss things too.
RevengeFNF Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Final version of PHP 7.2 was released today. Working on my site without (at least visible) flaws.
bfarber Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 I have been testing 7.2 locally and addressing any issues that come up.
MarianHärtel Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 I've installed 7.2 through the Plesk Installer but one I select in Plesk 7.2 as FPM through Apache I get an Error 500 on the frontend. Backend works, so I guess it is one of the plugins from the store that has an issue with 7.2? Is it worth the time to test around which plugin it could be over just waiting a few month?
sobrenome Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Will 4.2 be compatible to php 7.2 or will we have to wait for 4.3?
ASTRAPI Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 It is compatible But you must check also the addons that you plan to use if they are compatible also ....

This was their response: Quote Hello, 7.2 has only very recently been released, and was released after the latest stable release. For this reason, I would not advise switching to this just yet. Wait for some confirmation of this first of all. Kind Regards, So hopefully soon. Maybe 4.3?
ASTRAPI Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Even if IPB support officially latest php 7.2 you must wait a bit for third part software/modules to support it also, as for example you may need Ioncube and they do not support php 7.2 yet... My recommendation is to use latest php 7.1 unless you know what you doing and what you will need to go ahead with php 7.2
jcdesign Posted January 17, 2018 Author Posted January 17, 2018 Running the latest PHP 7.2.1 with no issue at all. Everything works fine so far. https://coverfriends.org/
nodle Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 I switched to PHP 7.2.1 since @jcdesign said he was. No problems at all as well. www.fluxoid.com
Joey_M Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 How much faster is 7.2 compared to 7.0? Is it a worthwhile difference?
Steph40 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I am running 7.2 with nginx with a brand new site and new server. So far no issues but I can't provide comparative data.

ASTRAPI Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 I just edit my post as i had in my mind the update from 7.0 to 7.1 as most users do that kind of updates in steps so the correct report from my personal benchmarks 7.2 will be faster from 7.0 around 17% :-)
Joey_M Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Looking forward to upgrading, I was told there's not much difference between 7.0 and 7.1 but 17% better is a worthy switch.
sobrenome Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 I suppose that 7.1 to 7.2 will not make a sensible difference, but 7.0 to 7.2 can make it.

ASTRAPI Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Not much but if you don't need ioncube and applications/addons/custom code are compatible with the latest 7.2.x version then it is better to use the latest version.
