KT Walrus Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 When I add a calendar event with a location, the country is not set by default (in my case, it should default to United States). The focus is automatically on the street address, and if I don't select the United States before entering the street address, I don't get Google Maps auto-complete for the address. Seems to me that this behavior isn't as friendly as it could be, especially since for other forms, the address field sets the default country from the locale for the current user.
orp Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 +1 - should be able to default a country and even state and perhaps city. also i can't find anywhere to disable the location field completely per calendar?
markwylde Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 Is this still not possible? Did anyone find a way to change the default country?
bfarber Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 The country should automatically be set to your country (i.e. if I visit from the US it should default to the US, if I visit from China it should default to China).
Sonya* Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 It does not work for me. The country is not defaulted. And I mean the field is not filled with any country. I am in Germany using browser in English. What should be default in this case?

If it sends "en-US" we can guess you are probably from the US for instance.

bfarber Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I see the problem looking at your string there. I'll raise a bug report. Basically, your first option is just "de" and we're looking for "de-DE". Your other options have a quotient applied and we're not handling that in our basic sniffer. In other words, it just comes down to the formatting of your Accept-Language header not being accounted for.
