Saurabh Jain Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 What is the easiest way to change club language Search all > replace all ? is this possible?
TheSonic Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 S&R is not available in the ACP. If you use english (the one that comes with IPS) you may S&R all the language.xml-files coming with the suite (one for every app). If you use a 3rd party-Translation (most of them come in one package for all (or more apps than one) ), you may S&R it in that XML-Files. I know some people that changed that using my languagepack (all apps in one XML) and it worked without a problem. But keep in mind: If you update the languagefiles, your changes are lost - so this may become a bit tricky . You may create an own XML-File using eg. UltraEdit/UltraCompare and put all YOUR "Club-Stuff" in there, so you are able to upgrade and then reimport "your" clubs.xml.
opentype Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Edit it manually in the ACP. It’s a lot of language strings, but at least you can consider what is correct in each case. If you do it automatically you can easily introduce mistakes. For example: There is a commerce language string “Diners Club”. But you don’t want to replace that instance of the word club.
TheSonic Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Using tools like UltraEdit may prevent that "Diner's Club" will be renamed in this case - you just have to configure it right. But off course, the better way is to do it manually, but it's more work (And - that said - UltraEdit will not protect you against gramatical errors (X-tra nice if using german Artikels der/die/das ) So, @Saurabh Jain, go in the ACP, click on translate, search for "club" and do it manually, if the S&R of the XML-file Is not sufficient for you.
