Gallery Question

Is it possible to prevent the 'New Images' area from showing? If there's a setting I'm struggling to find it.

Unfortunately, I think you're right, but even tickets are taking 2 days to get the first response then 24 hours between replies.

Is IPB on the slippery slope, the forums used to be full of knowledgeable folk only too willing to help out?

There is no setting in the ACP.  The "New Images" is a hard-coded block on the Gallery index.

This problem has (kind of) already been brought to the attention of IPS:

On another note, you might be able to modify the template itself if you're an advanced user (but any changes would be lost any time you update.)

A quick plugin: Hide New Images on Gallery Index.xml

Will display only Featured Images.
