Speed - logged in vs guest user

The speed of my forum is noticeably faster when logged out, should it still close to that speed when logged in? When clicking a link logged out the page will load instantly, but when logged in, there is 1-2 second delay.

Maybe you are using the Page Guest Cache? But even without it, as a guest the board won't need to run a lot of queries that normally runs if you are logged in.

I've been suffering the same issues, I was advised to remove any plugins and run the default theme (before mem-cache was enabled).

No I'm not using any cache method, my host say memcache isn't compatible with php7 yet. I was hoping with the upgrade to php7 alone the speed would be improved but it is only noticeable when logged out.
