Would be good to have functionality like EWWW Image Optimiser for WordPress where the system automatically optimizes and resizes images as they get uploaded rather than relying on users to do all that.
While I like the idea, I think it would also need some settings to control whether it should be enabled and at what points it starts to intervene. For example it would leave files smaller than 1200x800 alone, files smaller than 200kB.
Yeah, I wouldn't expect it to apply a blanket rule, some customisation would be good. For example, I may not want it applied to PNG/GIF files whilst JPG/JPEG were fine to optimise.
