recifbox Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 i want to migrate all my board from http to https and i know in 3.x it was not possible, what is status on 4.x ? is it possible is it some guide or people that have already do it ?
opentype Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Regarding the software itself, it’s as simple as changing http to https in your configuration file and clearing the cache. It’s really that simple. Unfortunately, this doesn’t touch the content of your existing forum posts – and that is still a problem.

He just needs to redirect with 301 from http to https in his webserver.

recifbox Posted May 1, 2016 Author Posted May 1, 2016 perhaps i'm wrong => relative url VS absolute that one way to think the problem and is the ipb CMS in 4.x can handle this transition see when i have migrated from 3.x to 4.x i get lot of trouble about old url format that lead to google and other Facebook link error were member have posted link to our site, we have made some htacess rules to handle this, we have also made some heavy SQL works to permit to get the proper format internal into the article, forum, blog post etc... but if we need to also redo the same from http to https, perhaps relative from absolute could be a solution so handle this transition? also one issue is the tchat by itself it's external handle so it break the rules into this https scenario no ? but perhaps i'm wrong here that why i need to speak about this with people of this community.
