How to minimize the dropdown at initial load in IP Content

I am using IP content for car classifieds and as our car classifieds is growing I wish to add the 226 car models under their brands. Problem is how to tell IP Content while adding new classified it shows all categories and sub categories, instead of showing only root categories like Audi in below image instead of BMW opened with all car model which will enable very long scroll.

Any idea how we can tweak this default behavior.....?

Just for clarification: you want to present a collapsed list of categories? (ie show only the root level?)

Yes Nathan, so while posting ad person can quickly scroll to his car brand and expand that specific car brand models in sub categories.
