Hi,

i know that some of my members have outdated email adresses, so i like to force them to re-validate them.

Is it possible to set them to "Email validation" again?!
I don´t find a way via ACP
Is there a flag in the Database for it?

Thanks for your help

kind regards

I have an app that specifically deals with this, it will force the user to validate a new email address. It requires that you use Mandrill to send emails, but that does include 12,000 free per month.

Thank you for the input

Sounds good, but i think its no solution for me.
We are a small non profit forum, so i have no problem paying one time for a app, but the Mandril service?
Maybe i´m missing the point of it or my community is just to small...

If someone can tell me what "flag" it is in the DB, i´m happy to set this once or twice a month manually.

kind regards

Hi Robert,

If you're only a small community, then Mandrill won't charge you. The first 12,000 emails every months are completely free. Personally, I find the Mandrill service very useful for ensuring that emails are being delivered. (The statistics are great).

There is no simple flag that can be set in the DB to do this.

Still?  I just looked on their site and saw:

Every Mandrill account comes with 2,000 free trial sends. Once you’ve finished your free trial, it’s $9.95/month for 25,000 emails.

Oh, that's interesting. I didn't realise they had changed it.

It does look like any accounts created before they changed it still have 12,000 free sends though.

hmm, beside the money i dont see the point in routing the mails via a external service for a very small community

sad, i thought this should be a easy request because the system is capabel of it for new users

thanks

If it's a small community, why don't you export the database rows and check the emails manually using an email validation program? For example, you could use Max Email Verifier.

@Martin1980 I know the accounts that need email-validation, i get the bounces

I like to "recharge" the forum system like it is on a new registration.
So the user can´t access the site with his account until the email is validated.
