Simple suggestion. ^_^

Members should be able to block individual user mentions and follows. Also this should be called a block list, works better than ignore.

Please add:

And what happened to this 3.4 setting?

Chats which blocked private chat requests. (Blocking a user in chat would be even better.)

I really really need this too...

It's surely got to be so important that a member can BLOCK someone completely if they need to do so.   That means block them from mentioning ( @ tagging) , block them from following and block them from being able to send a PM.  It IS possible in this day and age that there are people who can be a downright nuisance and can target others. Not necessarily those evil trolls, but just plain nuisance following somebody around a social site etc etc.

I've mentioned before that in real life I've had a proper stalker and it was a horrible time. I still to this day keep checking on social sites in case he is on there in which case I would NOT join unless I knew he couldn't contact me or see me in anyway because I had him "blocked" at the outset.  I would hate that a decent member left my site because they were being perstered by somebody.

Please add it if you can. Its an extra bonus to be in control of your own privacy

Are you asking that you can remove the person from the follow/mentioning of you in their posts?

Mentions do not notify the user if they have ignored them. You don't even get notifications of them quoting you in a topic or if they like a post you make.

There is no setting for ignoring a member they are all separate. You mean Posts? You can mention in more than a post, but even if not:

You may want to stop a certain person from mentioning you but not block their posts. If a person keeps bugging me by mentioning me I may want to only block mentions. :)

You may want to stop a certain person from following you.

All settings are separate in Ignore, just suggesting these two, they are new features to IPS but ignore settings were never updated. And Chats was removed.

If you want to block mentions by a member but nothing else you can't. Is this something that can be added? Think of it this way. How many times have members here abused mentioning of admins. That admin may want to block mentions from that member but nothing else. Then, the name simply does not come up when they go to mention. Could be moderated sure but this does not apply to admins only, members bug other members.

Following as well. I should be able to block someone from following me. This would be closer to completing full blocking, if you want to completely block someone. Why should they be able to follow you?

Thanks

Yes I should be able to block somebody from following me around the forums completely if I want or need to.  I know maybe its not easy to do because if I make comments on posts/forums that he/she is following he/she will see my comments... hmmm  how would we get round that little one?
