Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
EvilDragon Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 As these days it's good to have SSL encryption, I tried to set IPB4 to https-only. However, I ran into some issues... 1. Some stuff doesn't work anymore. Liking posts doesn't work, the popup when hovering over a profile pic isn't showing, etc. 2. IPB4 seems to load some internal ressources (pictures, etc.) from http://. That seems to be fixed somewhere. Has anyone solved these issues already? Can IPB4 fully run with SSL or does only the login dialogue load properly?
Jim M Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I am running my test board in full SSL no issues, no modifications or anything. Try running your Support Tool (ACP > System > Support > Something isn't working) if you were running without it prior.
EvilDragon Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 Hm, just noticed that these boards are running in https as well. Weird... maybe it has something to do with the upgrade? I just rechecked, but certainly some things are not working, unfortunately, the support tool doesn't help much. The "Latest Posts"-Block loads the profile pictures from http://, e.g., not from https:// on my site :/
ctrlbrk Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 After making a change to your conf_dist file for the base path, be sure you flush the cache in admin cp or you'll get a lot of strange things. Unfortunately, the only way to flush the cache is to go to system -> support -> something isn't working correctly. That triggers a cache flush.
Jim M Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 If you're still encountering issues, please submit a ticket and we can look at it more closely

I only forced everything to https:// using apache - maybe that was the issue! I'll check!
EvilDragon Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 Okay... that was the issue, together with some emoticons in forum description that had been saved with absolute URLs. Working now, thanks

It looks like running the support tool to clear your cache has fixed this issue for you (so others that see this can gain the solution)
