Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
tjk Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Is it me, or is selective quoting not available in IPS4? You cannot mark a section and hit quote, when you do, you get the entire message and have to manually remove the lines from the quote...really?
ctrlbrk Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I've always wanted that feature. What forum software do you know of that has that built-in?
Square Wheels Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I've always wanted that feature. What forum software do you know of that has that built-in?Xenforo does. Probably others too.
ctrlbrk Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Xenforo does. Probably others too.Hopefully we can get a third party plugin for IPB to support that.

Square Wheels Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 vbulletin.. Wow, that's embarrassing. Not turning this into a fanboy / hater post, but that is some of the worst software. Used it for 10 years, I'd never go back.

ctrlbrk Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 vbulletin.. I stopped at vb 3.8, it must have come after that.
tjk Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 All the big name software has it, except IPS. Xenforo, vBulletin, and Burning Board.
3DKiwi Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 There was a selective quote mod for IPB 3 that worked reasonably well but not as slick as selective quoting with Xenforo. Here's hoping IPS adds this to 4.1 as it's what I would describe as basic functionality.
