Pereira
Great news to hear that 3.3 is in the works. Just wondering if there will be another bug fix release for IPB 3.2 before 3.3 will be available?
Management Charles Posted December 1, 2011 Management Share Posted December 1, 2011 We are not planning on one but if you are having a bug that impacts your ability to use your community please submit a ticket :)

Pereira
There has been a mass of bug fixes (some critical too) in the coming release. 1. Will we have to wait until the betas for 3.3 are complete before the bugs the current bugs in 3.2.3 release will be fixed? 2. If so, will it be necessary for me to upgrade to the next version for these bugs to be fixed?
Management Charles Posted December 20, 2011 Management Share Posted December 20, 2011 Please note that the "critical" status is something we use internally for various reasons. It does not mean a bug is a security issue or something that will impact your community in a serious way. The next release will be version 3.3. Pereira
I understand from a release cycle standpoint that it's much easier just to release 3.3 with all the bug fixes however for those who do not want to upgrade to 3.3 for whatever reason, will they have to put up with bugs still in the 3.2.3 software? Management Charles Posted December 20, 2011 Management Share Posted December 20, 2011 Version 3.3 is not a huge upgrade like 3.2 was :) It's the same codebase and skin as 3.2 so it will not be a major undertaking to upgrade as some of our past point releases have been. shaks
Is there an ETA for 3.3? I highly believe that due to the mass of bugs in 3.2.3, the next release shouldn't be kept under cover for too long. Maybe at the end of January 2012 tops. Pereira
Ok so there will be no bug updates until around March - April 2012?
shaks
It seems like it.

Pereira
The reason I ask is because my licence runs out in early February. I got my licence just after 3.2 come out and so it appears now that I will have to renew my license in the new year just to keep the software bug free? Fantastic. Michael
No software is bug free. Even if they released 3.3 before your license expired, there will be new bugs in it. IPS does not have some nefarious plans to release new versions only when it forces the most people to pay to renew their license, they release their products when they feel they are ready.
