My Content - too long time

There are few complaints about My Content page. It takes really too long time. Now I got

Request Timeout

This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of this web site to increase 'Connection Timeout'.

This really need to improve.

System Settings > System > Search Set-Up
Limit "My Content" results to X days
Default setting '365 days'

Try to limit it to 30 or 90 days.

I would guess it's more of an issue with MySQL fulltext search. Switching to Sphinx should resolve it, and make all your searches faster.

A lot of forums are on shared servers, do not have access to functions to be able to install Sphinx.

I don't think this is specific to the my content page. The message you are seeing indicates that the request itself took too long to process, not that the MySQL query took too long.

Other links are fine. But when I click on My Content it very often takes long time. This issue I see here, on my live board I still use 3.1.4, so for now I cannot compare it.
