Posted July 26, 201014 yr I installed MAMP on my mac for a dev board. I installed IPB just fine but after it completed successfully when loading my board I get "Could not determine your IP address" After googling it for a while I found a french board that said to Enter the following code in the conf_global.php file$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] = '127.0.0.1'; That worked, but why is it that IPB doesn't work in this case, and can that be fixed?
August 11, 201014 yr THANK YOU for this!!! I currently switched over to a Mac and have MAMP installed for my own personal server to develop on. I got the IP address error and found the only browser the board worked on was Google Chrome. The fix was perfect!! Thank you again! :)
August 11, 201014 yr I discovered this awehile ago. Its something about the localhost usage. If you use the DNS sites (dyndns.com) and set up something (ex site.blogdns.net:8888), and use that, it will ix those random issues.
