Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
yacenty Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Would we have such feature in IPB 3.1 and addons? I would like to see tags for IPB and IPG This is the most wanted feature for my site just now
Amy T Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I would like to see tags as well. I know I saw in another post/ topic that they are working on a tag system but not sure if it will be a feature of 3.1 by the looks of it probably not but hopefully we will see it in 3.2.
dr. Jekyll Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 t appears that IPS is considering how to add the tags to the board. Probably takes time because they are trying to devise a better system (more flexible?) than those used in other CMS. Nothing is safe with Apple or IPS, but I doubt we will see it in IPB 3.1, at least not in some of the first subversions IPB 3.1. If I had to bet, I think TAG (and prefix) will be the IPS's gift for IPB 3.2, but, as I said, it is easier to know what plan Cupertino than IPS
Jυra Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I'm am filled with frustration when I hear tagging mentioned in regards to IPB.

Amy T Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Thats good still will use wordpress for my blog though as it runs out side of the forum, which works better for me. I personally would love all the ips apps to be able to run stand alone or out side the forum.
dr. Jekyll Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 With IP Converge (free) you can add you existing WP to IPB 3.0.5.
Amy T Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Indeed but as I mentioned I prefer it stand alone and would use the IP.blog if it was also stand alone. If I use the IP.content which I am thinking about using I will need 2 installs of IP.Board in order for it to run stand alone.

Amy T Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I know. I just have needs that require the oposite. ;)
Jυra Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 With IP Converge (free) you can add you existing WP to IPB 3.0.5. [img] [/img] Glitched and lacking support.
Josh Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Tagging will not be a feature of 3.1, but it is something that we are looking into for a future release.
yacenty Posted April 28, 2010 Author Posted April 28, 2010 Anybody interested in preparing TAGS module for me? Of course for cash
Sinistra Sensei Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Tagging will not be a feature of 3.1, but it is something that we are looking into for a future release. Will this be for board and IPS offical add-ons or just the board?
Abomination Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 IP. Blog already has a TAG system :) I found this on the latest company blog, do you mean category? "Categories: 3.1.0, Beta"
