bring back global announcement's counter?

is it a good idea to bring back global announcement's counter?
maybe people need to read how many times of reads on that thread especially if we "sell" those thread for advertising

What was the global announcements center? I don't think that was ever a feature of IP.Board. I've never seen it before, or even in an older release.

That might have been a mod.

I think if you want to record page views of banner ads for example then there are better ways of going about it. The banner ad program I use records page views and ad clicks and provides a nicely formatted graph that I can give to my advertsiers.

em..I am not referring to BANNER or anything custom advertising

I meant IP.BOARD 's default Global pinned thread, which is created from left-top corner of board index when you log in as admin

It appears the views are incremented in the announcements table - I suppose they're just not showing in the skin? You could edit the skin to show them I imagine, though I agree if we're monitoring them we should display them somewhere.
