Hi,

I'm interested in this for my up-coming 3.1 board.

Is there a 3.1 version yet, and does it turn off the built-in implementation and replace it with hover?

Thanks,
Shaun :D

There isn't a 3.1.x version yet, however I do plan to update it to work with 3.1.x.

Won't this app become useless in 3.1? I thought hover preview was already built into 3.1?

There is a topic preview built into 3.1 but it's not a hover preview, you have to click on an icon to get the preview.

I'd love to have the option for "hover preview" to work the same way as vBulletin and show in the TITLE info.

I can't imagine it would take much to achieve that same functionality - maybe have it as an option (Show preview as TITLE info? [ Y / N ] )

Any chance of doing this when you update for 3.1 ? I reckon a lot of vB migrants would buy it based on this feature alone ...

When you get this ready for 3.1 I'll buy it :)

Any timescale as to when this will work in 3.1?

Version 3.1 compatibility coming?

I guess if I keep posting eventually I'll get an answer as to when this will be ready for 3.1 <_<

Really sorry bout that. I was almost certain I'd replied to you. Clearly I was mistaken and for that I apologise. I'm looking into the new hooks that have become available in 3.1 to see if I can optimise the mod any further using them. I've no definite timescale for it as I'm currently researching it.

I'm doing my vB conversion at the end of this week and my members really, really, really would like this capability - they just can't get on with the icon+click preview - any idea when this might be available?

Thanks,
Shaun :D

Any updates?

I'm in the process of finishing up optimizations on the 3.1 version.

I boguht the 3.x version will u be charging again for the 3.1 version for those who already bought 3.x?

No as the release of 3.1.x was released only a couple of months after the initial version of this app was released I will be waiving the upgrade fee for customers who bought the 3.0.x version.

When 3.2.x is released an upgrade fee will apply if a new version of the app is necessary to ensure compatibility with the 3.2.x branch of IP.Board.

Version 1.0.7 is now available for purchase/upgrade at The Mod Station

Changes from 1.0.6 -> 1.0.7:

  • An installer bug has been fixed which was preventing fresh installs working on 3.1.x
  • Fixed this bug which was causing the Topic Hover Preview to work erratically in Chrome.
  • Updated to be fully 3.1.2 compatible (This version will only work on 3.1.2 and above.
  • Implimented a vB style "Title Hover" option in the settings. Admins can now choose whether the "Title Hover" or the "AJAX Hover" is used. In order to reduce page queries the post data for the hover is cached on topic creation/replies/manipulation when the "Title Hover" option is used.
  • Added an option to allow the admin to choose whether or not the Topic Hover Preview is shown to everyone. If this option is activated then there is no need to set permissions for the hover preview and any permissions already set will be ignored.
  • An option has been added to the Search View to show the post searched as the preview as opposed to the default hover view used in the rest of the forum. By default this option is turned on.
  • If the system is turned on it will now remove the built in "Hover Icon" so as not to confuse users.
