Fórum Jurídico Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Chrome is a modern browser, and I am not aware of any limitation concerning rich text editor. In gmail I can use it's rich text editor with google chrome just fine. Why not in IPB3?
Wolfie Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 You can't use the RTE while using Google Chrome? I'm using it right now to type this post. Trying emptying your temporary internet files in Chrome and refresh the page.
Fórum Jurídico Posted June 27, 2009 Author Posted June 27, 2009 Really? Weird. Did what you said and it still did not work. What is your Chrome version? Mine is 3.0.190.4.
Wolfie Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Google Chrome is up to date (2.0.172.33) Could be a version issue.
Wolfie Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 XP/SP3 here. Does it do the same thing when you switch user accounts on your computer?
Fórum Jurídico Posted June 27, 2009 Author Posted June 27, 2009 Weird. Just downgraded to 2.0.172.33, and the RTE is not working. XP/SP3 too.
Wolfie Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Try blowing up the internet by Googling "Google", then after the commotion dies does, use Google to search for RTE problems with Chrome. Also check Chrome support, see if anyone else has an issue.
Fórum Jurídico Posted June 27, 2009 Author Posted June 27, 2009 Seems like Chrome does not work with the RTE IPB3 is using. This one, however, works: http://www.webwizguide.com/webwizrichtexteditor/demo/ @ .Wolfie: you did something that made your Chrome to work with this RTE. Any idea on what it might be?
Cody Woolaver Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Is it a webkit issue because the RTE also does not work with Safari 4. Anyone know how to make it work?
Rikki Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Our editor didn't support Webkit in 2.x, and we weren't able to add support in time for 3.0. It's something we're going to look into adding in a future version, and sooner rather than later :)

I did it because I decided to install a few different web browsers. I have FireFox, Internet Exploder, Chrome, Opera and Flock installed.
Fórum Jurídico Posted June 27, 2009 Author Posted June 27, 2009 Sorry, didn't get you. Rikki said chrome is not supported in RTE right now, so what you installed that made it work?

No add-ons or anything else. I was further mentioning that I had installed other browsers as well and listed them.
Fórum Jurídico Posted June 27, 2009 Author Posted June 27, 2009 Well, ok then, but you are lucky in some particular configuration that made it work.
Jaggi Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 [quote name='Rikki' date='27 June 2009 - 06:13 AM' timestamp='1246079613' post='1815378'] Our editor didn't support Webkit in 2.x, and we weren't able to add support in time for 3.0. Mert Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 I also use 3.0.190.4 on both XP/SP3 and Windows 7 and haven't experienced any issues yet. Also, bear in mind that Google Chrome 3 is a beta product so it can cause problems.
Rikki Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Let's just be clear, the standard editor works fine - it's the RTE specifically that doesn't work in WebKit.
