Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Cool Surfer Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Hi I think if a person wants to add just images without text, it should be allowed. But right now the forum script wants you to add some text. If a person wants to start a thread on his or her forum without text, it should be possible.
Cool Surfer Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Where is the option to enable or disable, so that I can post images like this?
Martin A. Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Don't think there are any settings for it  But,Do you need technical support? You can obtain support via the client area, or you can try to obtain peer-to-peer support at IPS Resources.
bfarber Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 All you have to do is insert the bbcode for the attachment into the post area. You cannot submit an empty post, however.

RobertMidd Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 When you upload an image attachment you have the option to insert that into the post and that will insert the BBCode
sunrisecc Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 I had the exact problem. I was able to post attachments but each time I used the 'Insert Image' button in the editor, I ended up with [img]http://path to jpg[/img]. Permissions were set correctly and folders were chmodded to 777. The image would appear in the editor but not in Preview on live. I found the answer was in the Security section of System Settings. I had previously set that the no images would be allowed. I changed that setting and voila, everything worked as advertised.
