Report PMs

I know this has probably been asked a billion times, and may already be in IPB 3, but I have to say this just in case it's not on IPB 3's feature list yet.

Please make it so members can report PMs and the PM will be shown in the report center to anyone who has the permissions to see it, would make dealing with PM abuse and spammers SO much easier, having to check the database to find/confirm Buddhism PM spam gets a little old after the first couple times. :ermm:

Also, IPB 3 needs a "delete all PMs sent by user" feature. :sweating:

Those anime forums sure like to PM advertise a lot.

I know one anime forum that's become a big-board just by stealing from and spamming other sites like that, so yeah... :ermm:

Blacklist works good for sites like that (I have a bunch on my list to prevent spamming), but checking the database through phpMyAdmin to confirm PM spam is still a pain.

What happens, though, when a PM spammer joins and sends the same PM to 100 people, and half of those people report the PM they got? I think it would maybe be better to report a PM sender rather than an individual PM.

I too would like to see an option to remove all PMs a particular member has sent.

See your point... must be some way to avoid that though... maybe grouping PM reports by the member who sent them, and assigning urgency to them based on the number of reports, maybe automatically stop a user from being able to PM once they get x PM reports against them?

I saw a mod that restricts usergroups the number of PMs they can send in x time. That can annoy 0 post people enough to not PM more than a few people.

Report PM is great but I really do know that it takes a bit more then a report to stop all problems. Preventing PM sending from low post groups is ideal in this prospective but I still think that someone should be able to post hurtful posts to admins.

You also have to add in that it reports all PMs in the conversation. Reporting only one post doesn't necessarily post the provocation.

I did something similar to this before with some skin editing and whatnot, but i lost my forum before (got owned by some 40 year old with nothing better to do) and i lost it, but yea, its a good feature, just there should be some global options perhaps, ;)
