Links System for 3.0?

Currently I am using Brandon's Link System 3.0 with IPB 2.3.5. Will there be a links system for 3.0?

My board requires a link system. Its a major part of my advertising process with other boards. Without being able to exchanging links I will not be able to advertise my board with other boards. I have quite a few links (over 200) and my big fear atm is not having a link system in order to exchange links with other sites once I upgrade to 3.0.

IP Nexus has a link area but I have no use for IP Nexus. Also, I do not allow guest posting (99.9% of other board Admins do not want to sign up just to leave a link on my board) so adding a link in a forum that allows guests to post is out of the question.

I'm using it too. It was said it may become a community project. I know I'll be holding off from upgrading until it's out.

I used to use it and bfarber did a good job on it. Hopefully it keeps getting updated.

I hope this does become a community project or a mod that someone can upgrade to work with 3.0. Like I said, I need a links system as part of my link exchange with other like minded boards and sites.

When a link system project is made, can it use links already from Links System 3.0.0? That way everyone doesn't have to copy everything over.

Yeah that was the plan original. If that is the one Brandon made, I think we were using that as a base (think thats the only link system there is out there anyway?)

I hope we can just carry over after upgrading to IPB 3.0. I hate to save all the links (images and text) and then re-upload everything (its like 200 or so links btw) if we cannot carry it over from Brandon's Link System 3.0.

They've already confirmed it will become a community project after 3.0 using Brandon's Link System so I'm sure it will be upgradable you will just have to wait a bit to get it since they are going to see about getting tracker and shoutbox working before they start the links system.

So then Alex, we should NOT delete any Link tables etc...from the database? Just upgrade to 3.0 and once the Links plugin is ready, install it, and it will upgrade Brandon's Link System to work with 3.0?
