I have been trying to get the current version of IPB 2.3.4 from my client center however I am only getting a zip archive that is either incomplete or corrupted according to the message I get when extracting the zip. Can someone from IPS please look at the 2.3.4 download to see if there is any issues. I need to get a copy of this since I am in the midst of updating my boards.

Any help would be appreciated. ;)

Thank you.

this is wierd. why I am the only one having the issue???

I can download the pack but when I unzip it I get error messages saying it is currupt or incomplete. It also only shows as 108kb or less.

I tried firefox yesterday and got the same result. I even tried logging into my other client centers and still get same result. I remember about a month ago having trouble downloading mods from the new resource site. Ever since you guys changed everything around I can't get downloads. :(

I don't use download accelerators for anything. I tried that once and all I got was a jammed up piece of useless software so I uninstalled it. I just click on the download link in the client center and the download pops up...but I am not getting a complete download.

Did you try to right click on the

disk.png

Download File button and select Save the Target As... ?

yeah that don't work either. :(

and why are you using my avatar? that's freaky man... :P

CHANGE IT!!!

clear your browsers cache and try again

there's a thought...though I did do that for another reason recently so I'm thinking it may not have an effect. Worth a try though ;)

Also, save it as 2 or something, something of a diffrent file name. Sometimes it will see a file is there, but not check to see if its complete.

tried that...no dice :(

IPS is currently looking into the problem.

thanx for the suggestions yall

:shifty: actually I made that cat blinkable about 4 years ago. ;) It would be great if there is a black cat team.

you designed that cat? :o

it is a small world. :P I found it somewhere...probably on a google search. ;)

 No... I didn't design the cat, I just made its eyes blink. :P The original cat didn't blink its eyes.

oh ok...well that's still pretty cool

anyway....I've gone though quite a cleanout process on my pc and still can not solve the downloads problem. I've emptied cache and deleted cookies(including Invision power sites) and run some other cleanup utillities. I then relogged into the IPS sites and attempted to download via the Client Center and IPS Resource site. I still get partial files that won't open. :(

One thing I have noticed which seems to be different when downloading files from IPS sites. The download text on top of the download box(that displays how long the download will take) says '...downloading from index.php.' However the file downloaded keeps it's name when completed but is incomplete. When I download from any other site it actually displays the name of the file it is downloading. So why am I only downloading 'index.php' from IPS sites???

There's something "unique" going on for you, as you are the only user experiencing this issue presently.

Do you have English versions of the browsers? Extensions installed to your browsers? A firewall running? Are you downloading through a proxy? There's something going on with your browser/computer/ISP causing the issue.

Is the bandwidth stable?

Maybe you can try to run ' tracert www.invisionpower.com ' several times to find out on which hop that the connection might be easy to be cut off or time out.

btw, I suggest IPS try some other ways to support downloading files by tools, for example, using a dummy directory between domain name and the files to make it anti-leech, this can be controlled by the cookies, I think. If the files are over 100MB or evern larger and the bandwidth is not stable, the current Nexus Download can not handle it, I am afraid.

well I'm a unique cat but I doubt it's me :P

All my browsers are the English versions as that is the only language I speak  There is no new extensions installed since or before having this problem. The issue started after IPS changed software for the Client Center and IPSB. Since you have begun using Nexus on the IPS sites I have experienced this problem. I am not using a Proxy and I have tested downloading with my Firewall on and Off..no difference. Yet I can download files from other sites not related to IPS. For example I sometimes download music from megaupload.com. Have not had a problem getting or extracting downloads from them.

as for my PC...I have cleared cache, cookies temp files and performed general cleanup. I have also just defragged the c drive in the last day. None of this has worked.

As for my isp...I really don't know if they have done anything that would inhibit my downloading files but considering that I can download from other sites I would say they haven't.

I still think the problem lies with IPS and Nexus.

my bandwidth or thiers???

I could try running a tracert(if I can remember how   )

Sounds like you're hitting on something..interested to see where this goes. ;)

If your OS is Windows, then click the Start -> Run, type cmd [Enter], type tracert www.invisionpower.com [Enter]. ;)

oh yeah that's it...I remember now :P

I'll try it and post the results here. ;)

I attached an image of the tracert results. The browser window wouldn't expand so some of the ip info was cut off to the right.

I'm not saying it's purely your browser Prowler. ;) What I'm saying is that the code is relatively standard, and most everyone else is not having a problem. So there is something different about your setup that triggers a problem which no one else is seeing.
