Canadian Hotdogman Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I'm guessing final maybe but don't forget, when 2.1 or 2.0 (i forget) was going through there were like 6 betas!
Root0101 Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Hello,Please be patient :) . The staff are releasing more release candidates to make sure that there would be no hassle and problems with the final release.
WoLeRiNe` Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I wait for IPB...I wait for IPD since 6mois and we haven't any BETA :'( :'( :'( Yes i wait always.I love IP Services/Products   :wub:They are Number One!
WoLeRiNe` Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I'm guessing final maybe but don't forget, when 2.1 or 2.0 (i forget) was going through there were like 6 betas!I know IP... since 2.1.6 but I love/like IP.This is better then vB, Woltlab etc...IP Products are number one...!
Mark Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 As pure speculation I would guess final would be next.IPS won't tell us as they probably don't know themselves
flesh_magick Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I'd rather wait through 10 RC's than have to upgrade my board 10 times after final...*is a patient little angel*
bfarber Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 The releases depend upon the stability. There are less and less bugs being reported, and most of the little annoyances are/have been taken care of, so what/when/how the next version is released will depend upon how RC3 goes.
Buddy Kidd Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Are we going to get to download RC3 to use on our test boards?
. Adam . Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Are we going to get to download RC3 to use on our test boards?Im sure we will.I heard IPS test it for a few days before releasing :) - Adam
Guest Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 they usually release it after giving it to their closed beta test group
Luke Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 they usually release it after giving it to their closed beta test groupWhich, if I'm not mistaken, whether or not RC3 makes it here depends on how well it goes there. So if there are no real bugs reported in RC3 with them, couldn't it go strait to final? It usually goes: Developer -> Private Testers -> Here -> Customer TestingAnd depending how far along the releases are I think the "Private Testers" and "Here" step can be done at the same time, or very close.I say this because "Release Candiate" means it's a "Candidate" for "release". So if RC3 does make it to public customer testing, you can be sure there will be an RC4... You just don't know if RC4 will make it to customer testing or not :P

Mesmer Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 So when can we download it?when it... aaaaaaaarghh I can't say it anymore >_<

MindTooth Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 If RC15 is required, they release so many RC. (Then the RC1 most have been unstable :P ). Just hang on with pations.. You know you will get a nice board with the upcoming 2.2 release...
Ziv Grosu Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 If RC15 is required, they release so many RC. (Then the RC1 most have been unstable :P ). Just hang on with pations.. You know you will get a nice board with the upcoming 2.2 release...I thought of that too. Mabye it will be RC50 you couldn't know it but it's will be with many improvements :o
Luke Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 If RC ever got to a double digit you know there would be a serious problem
Quillz Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I'd rather wait through 10 RC's than have to upgrade my board 10 times after final...*is a patient little angel*Exactly. What's the point of having a final release, if the day after there will already be a security update, like there was with 2.1.x? If having 10 RC releases means the final release is stable for half a year, isn't that worth the wait? People moan and complain that IP.Board is getting hacked, and yet they still complain when IP.Board is going through too many RC stages?
WoLeRiNe` Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 So when can we download it? In 2-3days maximum ;)
Quillz Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 In theory you are correct, but we don't generally follow that method, RC3 will likely see customer release just to get wider testing, even if Final turns out to be RC3 + minor changes :)Isn't that how Firefox 2 was ultimately released? The final is RC3, which was released for further testing.

I think that they (staff) will explain us by the final board.
