IPB 2.2 Slow?

Featured Replies

Posted

For some reason on my server 2.1.6 is very fast but this new 2.2 is noticably slower. Could this be because of the encoding?

2 things I dont like about this new version....

1. The quick access stuff and how the emotes are in a smaller box now.

2. The new RTE setup...I dont like this because the quick access items are not in it anymroe.

Encoding slows page loading down.

It's super fast for me.

404'd page.

UnitedPakistan: Are you using the ionCube version?

I do feel the slowness in here sometimes..

I havn't had any problems with my install, although the server I'm on has 4 x 1.72 GHz CPUs and 2 GB of RAM.

I haven't noticed any major speed dephesit, only what you would expect from encoding...

I'm using the IonCube version and it seems just as fast as 2.1.7 to me.

Actually, it speeds up page loading as the code is compiled ready for PHP to run.

weird! I am running the ioncube one...

HERES THE WORKING LINK

If you don't have ioncube loaded into php.ini, it will be slower since it needs to use the runtime decoders. If your host has ZendOptimizer installed, try that or ask them to load ioncube into PHP directly so you don't need to use the runtime decoders.

Well I think I will wait for the unencoded version. If 2.1.6 works fine then so should this 2.2

Did I mention I HATE you.

Actually it seems slightly faster for me.

2.2 is faster

Actually, IPB 2.2 is a beta (encoded), so wait for the final release to state if IPB 2.2 is working quicker than 2.0/2.1 releases. And remember that IPB 2.2 supports caching systems and MySQLi API.

You'll hate me even more now then, I just moved to a server that has 4 x 3 GHz CPUs and 4 GB of RAM.
