Posted September 26, 200618 yr For some reason on my server 2.1.6 is very fast but this new 2.2 is noticably slower. Could this be because of the encoding?2 things I dont like about this new version....1. The quick access stuff and how the emotes are in a smaller box now.2. The new RTE setup...I dont like this because the quick access items are not in it anymroe.
September 26, 200618 yr Well its fast here but not over at my test site..www.urbanpk.com/area51404'd page.
September 26, 200618 yr I havn't had any problems with my install, although the server I'm on has 4 x 1.72 GHz CPUs and 2 GB of RAM.
September 26, 200618 yr I haven't noticed any major speed dephesit, only what you would expect from encoding...
September 26, 200618 yr Management Encoding slows page loading down.Actually, it speeds up page loading as the code is compiled ready for PHP to run.
September 26, 200618 yr weird! I am running the ioncube one...HERES THE WORKING LINKwww.urbanpk.com/Area51
September 26, 200618 yr If you don't have ioncube loaded into php.ini, it will be slower since it needs to use the runtime decoders. If your host has ZendOptimizer installed, try that or ask them to load ioncube into PHP directly so you don't need to use the runtime decoders.
September 26, 200618 yr Well I think I will wait for the unencoded version. If 2.1.6 works fine then so should this 2.2

September 27, 200618 yr Actually, IPB 2.2 is a beta (encoded), so wait for the final release to state if IPB 2.2 is working quicker than 2.0/2.1 releases. And remember that IPB 2.2 supports caching systems and MySQLi API.
September 27, 200618 yr Did I mention I HATE you. You'll hate me even more now then, I just moved to a server that has 4 x 3 GHz CPUs and 4 GB of RAM.
