gel Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 vbulletin's basically does ajax if it is added to the same page, but regular if it is destined for a new page.I agree this way is the best.
Quillz Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I agree this way is the best.I also agree. While I'm not saying that we should totally overhaul the Fast Reply box, I don't see how a little AJAX couldn't improve it.
TestingSomething Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I personally don't see how it helps much though. The way it is now, you mustw ait for it to go to the new page. With ajax, you must wait for the "waiting" type of message to go away. i don't see how it helps much, other than if people think it may look a little better being done with ajax.
Management Matt Posted September 21, 2006 Management Posted September 21, 2006 No. Ajax fast reply is the most pointless thing in the world. Ever. If our competition wish to throw feature sugar all over their product to make it taste better than it should, it's up to them. ;)

athlonkmf Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 well i agree but with huge forums with tens of thousands of members it does make a difference, i'm not a fan of ajax everywhere like another forum software we'll leave unamed for now :P but key placed ones do have advantages.Really? I don't see my 115796 registered members and 1384 user(s) active in the past 30 minutes have any problems with my Lightning Reply option. They love it actually.
nicoo Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Probibly won't be done till 3.0 they are still tryign to understnad the AJAX codingThis is really a good one >_< I would nominate it for the "10 best IPS-forum-posts of 2006" :)
