cooky Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 personally i think 2.1.5 is a lot slower than 2.0.5, pages take quite a while to open and that pop up pm notifier hardly ever works so hope 2.2 will be greatly improved.

To be honest the pages don't seem to be loading up any slower for me (however i am on a fast connection so no pages load slowly really), on my board the PM notifier also works properly every single time. If it doesn't work for you, perhaps there is a problem with your board that could be looked at/fixed by a member of staff here by submitting a support ticket :)
cooky Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 yep sorry thats what i meant , ive used ipb right from 1.3 and 2.1.5 is the only one thats loading slow im not slating it as i like ipb or i wouldn't have a lifetime license pity it doesnt load quicker tho and the pm pop up sometimes just gives a javascript eror.

This sounds like a personal issue, you should open a support ticket to get it fixed, because a javascript error could reduce the loading of a page. Granted it could also be the fact your board is just slower now, then it was, but this website if has changed at all over the years is faster.
kafloo Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 updated ours to 2.1.5 from 2.0.4 no problems--------------------pinoy forum
Gianpiero Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 just gives a javascript eror. when you're running an old customized css, check it line by line with the original css (file compare) bye :)
Zillas Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 I only waded through 8 pages, so please forgive me if this has already been asked.... My users are having a problem with all the tags when using the RTE with IE, not just this double spacing issue. It seems to mess up quotes, colors, fonts, etc. etc. yet it works fine with RTE and Firefox. Will this:also be fixed by doing this: I apologize for the inconvenience, however at this time, the problem lies with IE, not with IPB. If you wish to REVERT this to the 2.1.4 behaviour (noting that the the indent and list tags WILL be broken) this is what you can do... Find the following in jscripts/ipb_editor_rte.js var ie_ptags_to_newlines = false; ??? Thanks!

It seems to mess up quotes, colors, fonts, etc. etc. yet it works fine with RTE and Firefox. Will this also be fixed by doing the js fix? Just coming back to answer my own question, LOL. Yes, it did fix it. I understand with it being an IE issue, though. I sent a ticket b/c I couldn't log in to my chat admin panel; but it turns out I can log in just fine using firefox, so I told them nevermind, LOL.
AnarchyZERO Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Nothing happens when I click on either the image or the e-mail in the rte post editor, when I click the URL/Link button, I get the error above, any ideas? This all happened when I upgraded to 2.1.5 What exactly were the changes the the skin sets? The upgrader asked me if I wanted to change them and I said no, not realizing it would basically break the RTE feature on the forums... if there is a manual upgrade for this, I would much appreciate it. -Mikey
princetontiger Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 It shouldn't break the RTE at all... make sure the skin is updatd.
AnarchyZERO Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 How do I update the skin? They are all 2.1.x skins.

The board will install, but then you'll also get other errors such as session not inserting, etc. etc.
Coastie Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 do the recent security patches also get rolled into the IPB 2.1.4 to 2.1.5 Upgrade Pack (2.1.5) files, or will I still need to apply them? This meaning downloading IPB 2.1.4 to 2.1.5 Upgrade Pack (2.1.5) now, not when it was first released.
Svetlio Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Can i update my 2.0.4 to 2.1.5 with keeping my database ?
JeepSiteGuy Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 <--- happy with 2.1.1 no security issues noticed <--- not ready to edit a bunch of files to apply a minor update <--- will wait 6 months for 2.2 and then have IPB upgrade it!
ZuCruTrooper2 Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 ^^^ Foolish ^^^ You're just waiting for something to happen? At one site I knew, they wouldn't upgrade from 1.3 since "it cost money" basically, and it took a major worm attack to change their minds. Don't let the same happen to you!

Tigger-oN Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 One of the forums I admin for (out of the two that use IPB 2.1.5) is being hit by two exploits - http://www.milw0rm.com/exploits/1726 - and - http://rst.void.ru/download/r57ipbce.txt - does this update fix these exploits? I can't see any info about the exploits being fixed with this update, nor can I see a 'hot-fix' for them. Thanks for any replies. Edit/update: OK, so I just download the 'latest' version from Invision, only to find a few issues with. The first is the FILE NAME IS EXACTLY THE SAME as the last one I downloaded. Seriously guys, how can you keep track of stuff if the file names are the same? There also is no version bumping, why not? Its an update, so update the minor version number at least. There is NO released date info, again, why not? I'm yet to install it, so I'm gussing there is still a chance if do NOT have the latest version, at this stage I'm more lost than any thing else as to this entire update.
jucs Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I noticed the same. Same file name. Is the download actually updated!?
Dll Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 If you read the announcement about the update it tells you that the main download has been updated to include the patches.
