rbiss Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 There are too many add on products and upgrades to maintain a decent skin. I'm considering removing the community blog simply because of skinning issues. Rather than find a new product to add on to invision why not start a skinning department that creates and updates quality skins (stressing real damn good quality and choice) and charge and annual $$ for that. The whole skinning issue is a giant pain in the rear. The way it's going I might just not upgrade anything for a couple of years, then come back to upgrade and skin. I think invision is missing the boat. Most forums don't need more gimmicks, they need to look professional.
bfarber Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Rob is already working on a business/professional skin. I know he has the mockup (and I think all of the images) done, and I believe he has already started on the CSS/HTML. :)
princetontiger Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 So IPB will have a new skin? I hope someone else does the html and css because his Web site is basically a sliced image... and not how an xhtml skin should look.
Management Charles Posted November 12, 2005 Management Posted November 12, 2005 Not a new skin - just an alternative for corporate customers.
bfarber Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Yeah, not a new skin that will be included by default with the software, just an alternative skin for business customers. Additionally we do have a Custom Services department where you can get a quote on a custom-made skin that will suit your needs. :)
