nycjoe Posted May 18, 2005 Share Posted May 18, 2005 here is my idea: DATING SECTION. we all have profiles, pictures (either avatar) or gallery picture can be used.... Lets create dating section (either within the forum or gallery) when members can submit themself for dating. So when you browse you can see pictures of girls/guys with some basic info like location, age, etc.... And it would have PM feature so you can send somene PM or heart :) and start dating. so lets say i have a huge board with 1000 members and i have small dating section where my members can find potential love. i think this is not hard to make. it would look something like thishttp://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...&cmd=sc&op=user and you can click on the photo and see profile and send PM! let me know what you guys think! Not all boards will want to encourage or permit active date-searching, and that would be a lot of work for a lot of boards that don't want that as their "gimmick". I will admit that it would be nice to have something like that available, but definitely as an external modification, perhaps even as a completely separate entity that requires only a link from the forums to become integrated. damien245uk Posted May 18, 2005 Share Posted May 18, 2005 I don't think it should be a mod as such as however good they're made they always end up a little below par compared to IPS stuff :P However, I don't think it should be a standard feature for the reasons Dacity2 stated - perhaps IPS could create an add-on module for this similar to gallery, blogs, TSL etc. - I think it has to be considered at least as useful (far more so in my opinion) than TSL! I like what Matt's done with the My Assistant so maybe some more of the Ajax wouldn't do any harm on IPB at least it dispenses with the page refreshes, which can be a pain in the back side sometimes.
