I have no clue, but changing the file name unlocked the ACP for me. I'm going to go in and uninstall everything the correct way and then only re-install anything that's compatible with 4.5.

MY GUY!!!! (or gal) THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP. I am knocking on wood that NOTHING else breaks until I figure out which 3rd party app/plugin caused all this MESS.

Yes, but it doesn't allow me to do anything in recovery mode. I tried going to turn the website on but it gives me an error telling me I can't do anything until I remove " 'RECOVERY_MODE', true " from the constants.php file.

Okay thank you. I just wish I could turn the website back on. The frontend seems to be working fine now that everything is disabled, I just can't get ACP access. 😞

With recovery mode set to true Recovery mode set to False Is something not staying disabled??

Yes, sorry. I had edited my post. I downloaded a fresh set from the client area and all files were uploaded/overwritten. I then changed it to False and I immediately lost access to ACP and got the generic error once again.

@bosss When I have the recover constant set to true, it disables everything third party and restores the default theme, however, once I remove it as instructed in order to use the ACP, it goes back to not letting me access the ACP again. I left recovery mode on and uploaded a fresh set of files, turned it off, same thing. When I go to run the upgrader it says everything is already up to date.

@bosss I found the constant in a guide and it worked. Thank you so much!

How do I disable them in that file exactly?
  10. ahc replied to ahc's post in a topic in Technical Problems
I’ve already tried that unfortunately. I’ve tried going in and manually deleting apps/plugins to see if that would help but it would just fix one page and break another. I reverted those changes and am just waiting for advice on how I can somehow reverse the upgrade or manually set the ACP theme to IPS default through Cpanel.

I downloaded IPB 4.5 Beta 11 just fine and both the website and the AdminCP were working. After taking a look at all the new stuff, I noticed our theme was wonky and went to go upgrade it since there was a version compatible with 4.5. available in the marketplace. After upgrading, things were fine for the first few minutes of browsing the site to make sure everything wonky was fixed with the theme upgrade, but then my site just completely broke with template errors, and shortly after that it just stopped letting us access it. After you log in, you might be able to access certain pages, but if you try to browse, you're hit with a ton of generic 500 errors. No one is able to access the AdminCP from any account, you're just automatically hit with another generic 500 error, no chance to log in. No errors are being recorded server side, and any attempt to fix it has come up short. I've submitted a ticket but that was well over 2 hours ago and I'm still sitting here on my hands waiting for help. If I do a clean install of IPB, will all of the website content disappear if I use the same database on the new install?

  13. Feature Request: When sending notifications to Discord regarding things like gallery images, files/products, etc. can the default image be embedded within the notification?

I would like this, too. I run an art site and we'd like custom fields such as Program Tools Completion Time Etc

Bumping this up because I still think improvements need to be made to the ignore feature. I'm now having to deal with members reporting each other because people they've ignored are retaliating by down voting all of their recent content to lower their reputation. There needs to be a way for the person doing the ignoring's content to be hidden to those that are being ignored. They shouldn't still be able to antagonize people that want nothing to do with them. It still doesn't make sense to me that that a community platform has no proper tools for the member to control their experience.
  16. I would LOVE this. This was one of the downsides of Tapatalk; People were confused that they would have to sign up for the app and then have to find our community in a sea of other communities they didn't want/care about and assumed they had downloaded the wrong app initially.
  17. Hihi, I edited my post right before you replied and realized that you didn't have it in your quote, so I'll post it here again just in case you missed it. I can't wait until 4.5 is officially released so we can upgrade everything. 😄

Seems like several countries are following in India's footsteps and looking to investigate and/or ban the app. 🤔
  19. Those changes look AWESOME! I have a small request if you'd consider it for a future update: We don't use the leaderboard, so the "Days Ranked" option in the AuthorPane goes to waste. Could we have the option to swap this out with the member's follower count instead? Also, an option to limit which usergroups can use the customization features (Accent Color, Circle/Square images and borders, and custom images) instead of just guests. Thanks!
  20. I'd like the option for signing up via a phone number for my members, but preventing email registration based spam isn't the reason why, it's more for the convenience since a good majority of the population that actively uses the internet own some sort of smart phone. I've seen the documentaries that show warehouses full of workers that have about 100+ smart phones for each person with different phone numbers. They are paid to automatically sign up for websites to spam and/or boost engagement, depending on what you paid for. There are a lot of prepaid plans you can get for a little bit of nothing these days, too. Even if we pretend that they wouldn't shell out money on phone plans, there are SEVERAL accessible free apps, including Google, that will give you a phone number for free (and allow you to change or sign up for new numbers for free with other emails) that can be used via Wifi, something you can get for free or pay for and share with several other people. I don't have high hopes for anything argued for preventing spam's sake. Interesting. I've never signed up for a website that required my phone number, not even Facebook. 🤔 The only app that has my phone number is DoorDash, but that's because I'm a lazy millennial and don't cook my own food. 😂
  21. It's very easy to match your site in their admin panel. You can choose your colors and modify the styles a bit with some css if you need a bit more. We used it from 4.2 to 4.4 and nixed it because of the heavy use of Discord these days, but it's decent for anyone who mainly needs instant chat that integrates your website members.
  22. I don't recommend a company currently in a lawsuit for illegally selling user's data and supporting CPC propaganda by suppressing activists against the inhumane treatment under the current Communist regime. That being said, Arrowchat is compatible with IPS and just had a major update to its software. https://www.arrowchat.com/

I think this was based on the conditions that CKEditor gets upgraded to version 5+, and they can confirm that the collaboration between Grammarly and CKEditor was successful and none of the past technical issues would be present. I'm not sure about the second part, but the first part hasn't happened yet. Release notes from 4.5 Beta 5
