You may be making it more complicated than it needs be.
In the collaboration, the owner just has to give permission to "guests" to view/post/reply/etc. A guest is someone who is not an active member of the collab (i.e. everybody else on the site).
But doesn't that take away the right to for example "Ban" a member from posting in your group?
-
Solved the issue with Rules and automatically joining members who visit the group or the group topic.
With a few conditions....This way there is no need for members to join any group, but the group owner still has control over the members and content.
And most important, my members don´t have to click two times to actually join an open group, which apparently has been the worst thing in the world.Have to say that your Rules application is by far the best thing that has happened to me as an admin.
Very big thanks for that... -
We have another thingy on our forum, when it comes to joining and posting in a group.
Our members have finally approved the concept (after world war 21 on the forum), but with one issue.
The open groups should be 100% open. The benefit of this would be that members who created a group can still moderate their forum, but all members of the site can post and create content without having to "join" the group. So my suggestion is to either have a 5th option for the group categories which makes this possible or the possibility for the admin to set the permissions in the flagged standard group, as it seems the permissions in newly created groups, do not follow the flagged group today.
Or if it could be done with your "Rules" application?

Create a custom action in your ACP. Then create a rule which is triggered by the custom action. In that rule, add two actions:
- Create the new topic
- Schedule the custom action for 1 month in the future
This way each time the custom action is ran, it will create the new topic and then reschedule itself to run again in one month.
Then you just have to trigger it for the first time to set the cycle in motion. You could set up a quick igniter rule that will schedule the custom action on a specific date and time, such as when you post a topic in a certain forum. Then after it's scheduled for the first time, delete or disable the igniter rule. The rest will take care of itself.
Custom action.
That just widened the usage of the "Rules" once more.
Soon up to 10 rules... -
If I would want to create a monthly topic in a specific forum, how would this be done?
I am doing a photo contest (a questions forum has been converted to a photo contest forum) and would like for a new topic to appear every month.

I hate having to say no.... but no.
Thats too bad.
But I will most definitely buy this once we are upgraded to 4.0
So many uses... -
Could this be user for a page populated with latest reputation given?
Like the "Reputation History" http://community.invisionpower.com/files/file/3564-db31-reputation-history/

Sure, quite simple to clear any 'flags'
- ACP > Other Apps > Bouncer > Tools
- Type username in the input (auto complete will give you suggestions)
- Click 'reset'
That's it
Ah, so easy... :D

Since the Mandrill side has expiration dates to the blacklisted emails, rejected email cannot be found on the Mandrill page where it shows rejects (Settings > Rejection Lists), but shows in the Full reject list, which you have to download.
So, when a member has a full mailbox and does not wish to alter it, but empties the mailbox, how do we remove the email that works again (does not bounce), but still shows the message that the member has to alter his email before he can receive new ones?
-
How often does the Mandrill app send rejection list to IPB?
After a bit of testing only one member gets messages about needing to update email.
-
Great app. Got it working in the end.
I had only setup SMTP to use Mandrill and not enabled the Mandrill Community Enhancement.
So I had a few minutes of problem seeking. :)
Setup not super-easy.
Maybe improve the PDF instructions a bit?

Upgraded and works just fine.
Had to revert my membermap.css and templates, but after that it works just perfect.
-----------
Found a small bug though.
In ACP, when having more than one page of custom markers, I edited one category and saved, tried to edit other category on page two, but clicking page 2 sends you to previously edited category.
Reloading the custom market page and cleaning cache and then going to page 2 works, but still a weird problem.

Anyone can tell me how to fix this?
I would add the following to the bottom of membermap.css file in System > Look & Feel > "Your Template" > "CSS files" > membermap.css:
h3 a {color: #000000;}
Or use any hex color of your preference.
-
Anyone have this working on IPB 3.4?
-
OK...
Another feature request would be to have a dropdown for the custom markers on the front end and with the choise only show that category on the map.
Also what would be great it to have permissions for who can set custom markers. -
I did some quick research on this and found that the error occurs somewhere between inputing the coordinates, google working with them and your code writing them to the database.
Entering the coordinates into the database directly gives you the right location as intended, but somewhere along the line google alters the coordinates.
This should not be a very big problem to fix. :)
Good luck...! -
Have a look on here:
http://ipb.silvester....com/membermap/Is the test marker in the wrong place ?
Google attempts to provide an address for the co-ordinate it seems.
Any news on this issue? -
I also have a request... :)
html and/or bbcode parsing in custom marker description. -
Works perfectly on my 3.1.2 board.
-
Another future feature request...
* A list with all the members in the map - clickable, so you go to the members position when clicked.
* Default zoom and position? Is this possible? So admin can set the default zoom and position of the map. Like in my case we have some funny members who wish to put the pins as far away from the other members pins, so we get a full world-map, instead of a zoomed in one. As we only allow pins in Thailand, but one or two members put their pins in say Canada for fun. Ya, you know how I mean.
 -
can they find their location on maps.google.com - if they can then it should work on your member map.
Well, most of them can find their closest village, but not more than that. So I have asked the ones that are very annoyed with the position being off, to send me a PM with their position and I will edit it in the database. -
Custom markers works fine now. Great...
Trying to see if I can find a solution to my members problems with living in the forrest outside the small village. :)

Also a suggestion...
Wouldn't it be good to be able to move a topic from the main forum to a forum in a group?
Now I have to create a category, move topics there and then move the whole category to a group.
