  1. Remove everything except the user-uploaded files (I think it will be /uploads, as well as /gallery and/or /blog if you have them). (I wouldn't be sure of the file names though).

Also keep conf_global.php. (Make sure you back everything up first.)

Then just upload the files for a clean 3.0.1 install, go to /admin/upgrade and follow the prompts.

Also, if you're not comfortable doing this, IPS can do the upgrade for you. Submit a ticket about it.

  2. The way I was thinking was to specify users who could use the multimod in the same way you specify forums it's available in. The existing system can do almost the same thing, but this would give finer control (though again, it's not an urgent priority).

    • Allow member groups (and maybe other things too) to be changed along with changing the topic. This was a feature that I used extensively when I was using ZetaBoards and going without it has made things a bit more complicated.
    • To make sure that the above didn't get abused, allow admins to specify specific users or groups who can use the multi-moderation, instead of making it globally available to moderators.

These would be really helpful to me. I don't know how many other admins would make use of these improvements, but it might be worth looking at.

  3. Nice, point proven regarding the disappearing posts from customers who are not happy.

I'm not sure what you're on about with the disappearing posts: This topic went on for quite some time and got really vocal until it eventually started winding down and the author asked for it to be locked. If posts from unhappy customers are removed, then that topic should definitely be gone..
  4. Dang, I must still be half-asleep.

If I remember correctly, there was a mod for 2.3.x that did this. It's pretty likely that someone will make one for 3.0 as well.
