Anything I should know before upgrading the old IPB3 version to this?
  2. Really easy going and professional person way back when I used her service. Did good work and was inexpensive. Would by the person pizza.

How easy is it just to use the profile part of this and not the topic view or page parts? Settings?
  4. Many users never log out, though. Reddit has a really well designed "shadow ban" and it's good enough for casual users to never notice. Only thing that tipped me off was how my up/down votes never were saved when I revisit the site. It's really unethical and to this day I don't know what I said or did. For all I know I may say or do something for it to happen again.
  5. Edit history of a post is something I'd really like to have but would very rarely need to use. I would want moderator visible only, though.

Don't worry, the trolls will find other ways to troll your forum. We are resourceful and creative.

Many forums including mine are fine with posting in old threads as long as the post doesn't break any set rules.

Option #2 please. I hate knowing someone ignored posted and I'm sure others do.
  9. vB forums that use automated usergroup management have many members who do not correctly change usergroups in addition to the period in time that a member has to wait wondering why they haven't changed usergroups. Most forums don't use thread prefixes.
  10. I think post icons should be a modification or community project. You always have the ability to change the icons. Either way, they take up way too much space when they're viewable. My view/input.

"Why, oh why, would you attempt to move a topic into the same forum it is already in? Do YOU see the logic in that?"
  12. While I don't see why members can't, I don't think it would be used much.
  13. If we all install their spyware, surely it'll go back up.
  14. That pretty much sums it up. And I really had no idea what I was looking at for a while.

I'd like to think I'm pretty wise with the net, but I didn't know about the middle scroll/button till it was mentioned in this thread. So I can't expect many of my members to know about that or keyboard hot keys.

I don't think it has to do with a business model, but more with how forums are. Why should someone back click 5-20 times of view their history just to go back to reply about something they saw from a link? Forums are sites for interaction. Now I will cringe every time I see an IPB forum that has it enabled because they're treating me as a visitor and not a member or potential member. You want me to leave? Okay, bye.

Since we have sites and spend a fair time using the net, we forget other people aren't all familiar with their browser's features. So really either way you're forcing users. I can't stand external links that open in the same window. A user may want to have both windows or tabs open, etc. Unlike news sites, forums generally want members to stay longer to post and interact. Opening external links in the same window doesn't help that. I think it's foolish to think most (or all) people know that they have a choice or enjoy having to have an extra step when wanting to open a new page. It's nice that IPS added this feature, but I think it was a mistake to have it enabled as default.
  19. I mess negative repping everyone.

I'm hoping on some documentation on how to upload a skin to a forum. I found it pretty difficult. o.o
  21. I'm guessing that means Safari, as well? This is a Facebook issue? Interesting.
  22. Nobody seems to mention the "nofollow" controls. It's turned on when you upgrade (at least it did for me). Not sure what everyone's view is on that.

IP Gallery already already can stream video and show uploaded pictures. It can already so a lot that's listed in the second link.
  24. I like how the IPS staff are completely silent about the white skin.

I'm sure it was because so few people used it. I don't see why someone would want to save so many PMs.
