I know that each update takes a different amount of time to complete, but another Kudos I think the IPS team deserves for IPS5 is that it rips through applying its updates significantly faster than IP

Quick question: Is a beta version safe to install, or how long until 5.0.4 official is released?

I need that "Powered by Giphy" in this beta update to get my api key.

Spoke too soon. Posts in one of my main forums are completely inaccessible after the upgrade.

Make sure you run the patches from the support page.

This is so transformative for Pages. Thank you to @Esther E. for taking the time with me to understand the use case for it. I can now build a News front page from stock IPS without having to build custom blocks.

What is this feature about? :)

You need add this on your : constants.php

define( 'USE_DEVELOPMENT_BUILDS', TRUE );

After add this, just check new versions available !

Great job as always, guys! Quick question, I saw this in the release notes:

#3561: Restore HTML pages functionality for Pages

But I'm not seeing that reflected in my localhost test environment (updated to the Beta 5.0.4). Don't know if this note is referring to some other functionality that has been restored and I'm misunderstanding?

You should be able to create a new HTML page.

This will then show the content tab as expected:

What is this feature about? :)

You can now build a page with several blocks from the same database and have the next block pick up where the previous block left off. I do this in V4, but I needed an extra plug-in and some custom blocks to do it. Now with this update in V5, there's no need for a plugin or custom blocks. You can check out my V4 front page at Cheers and Gears

The first block only displays one article. The second block starts at article 2 and displays three articles in a different format. The third block picks up at article 5 and displays 5 articles in a third format. Etc.

With this update, you can replicate this general layout for a front page in 10 minutes or less with no code.

Oh I see what the problem is - that option only appears if you click the blue "Add Page" button in AdminCP, not if you click the "+" button within a Page Folder. I'll log this as a bug in the tracker, thanks Matt.

I tracked down the issue. Hopefully fixed in the next release.

If you turned on Rewrite URLs via the ACP > Search Engine Optimisation (and added the .htaccess), the issue will go away now. :)

where should add .htaccess ? my site has .htaccess in root!

Must i do that in my main site?

@Matt I tested my - test site and same problem - when you are in site = no problem att change Theme

but like guest = can not

test like guest please - change some theme

I did that enabled rewrite urls and downloaded the file renamed to .htaccess uploaded to the root and it seems to work you can do that or wait for the next beta release.
