Motown Web Guy Posted yesterday at 09:28 PM Posted yesterday at 09:28 PM I recently upgraded my hosting situation (a new VPS Cloud server) and as part of this migration, I asked my hosting provider to upgrade my version of PHP so that I would be ready for future upgrades. I'm currently running PHP version 8.0.30, which is fine for the most current version of the forum software which I'm running (Version 4.17.9). Wanting to be ready for the future versions, I asked to be upgraded to version 8.1.0. They could go as high as 8.3.0, but I thought it would be best to go one step at a time. That all said, after bumping me up to 8.1.0, my forum software broke so they reverted it back to 8.0.3. I was instructed to reach out to support here... Is there anything I can do that might provide some insight as to why my site broke when upgrading to PHP 8.1? I'd love to get some additional information to help me troubleshoot this issue so I can go back to my hosting company and ask them to try again. However, I want to make sure I'm not wasting their time at this point sInce the upgrade is not critical at this point. Any help/insight/guidance some might have as to what to look for to help, would be greatly appreciated. I'm a mere novice at this for the most part.\ Thanks! -MWG
Jim M Posted yesterday at 09:38 PM Posted yesterday at 09:38 PM Odds are that you are missing modules for PHP 8.1 configuration. You will want to have your hosting provider change you to PHP 8.1 and then upload and go to the following file in your browser. That will outline anything required by our software to function.
teraßyte Posted yesterday at 10:17 PM Posted yesterday at 10:17 PM Also, don't go higher than PHP 8.1.x. PHP versions 8.2.0+ are NOT supported by v4.
