Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Arthmoor Posted Thursday at 11:19 PM Posted Thursday at 11:19 PM So the "Prepare for v5" feature said to post here if we have questions. I don't recall seeing anywhere that it was mentioned the status updates feature was going to be removed. While our community doesn't use them a lot, they're still something people want. Are there plans for something to replace it or is it just going away forever? If this was mentioned somewhere else I'd appreciate a link to the topic. asifzkhan and simonle 1 1
Gary Posted Thursday at 11:26 PM Posted Thursday at 11:26 PM Hi @Arthmoor, The team have mentioned that status updates will be removed and once you upgrade, the status section simply won't exist anymore. There is a topic open in the Beta Testing club though to discuss what happens to published status updates though.
Randy Calvert Posted Friday at 02:56 AM Posted Friday at 02:56 AM This has been posted for a year and a half... in fact back in April of 2023. https://invisioncommunity.com/search/?&q="status updates"&search_and_or=or&updated_after=1680307200&updated_before=1682812800
Andreas Grace Posted yesterday at 07:42 AM Posted yesterday at 07:42 AM This warning appears for me even though I disabled status updates as a setting. Can I get rid of it? If yes, how?
teraßyte Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Most likely you have some old status updates in the database from before you disabled it. If you're not using it you can ignore the warning. Any existing status updates will simply be deleted when upgrading to v5.
Andreas Grace Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Turns out there were 3 of them. They're now gone and so is the warning.

Yes, I also noticed this when I checked out that ACP-page. This is a real shame, and I don't understand why they would remove this feature from a "social" platform. 😞
