Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Princess Celestia Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 We set up Open Search 2.6.0 to use as our "Elasticsearch" server after learning that IPS themselves use it, with the "compatibility.override_main_response_version" setting enabled to pass Invision's Elasticsearch version check. Indexing our entire community finished successfully but all search-based functionality, including activity feeds on user profiles as well as actual searches, now returns zero results. I left our site's config in place in case someone from Invision would find it useful to troubleshoot it directly. Which version(s) of Open Search are known to work with Invision Community as of today? Versions 1.2 and 1.3 were mentioned in the above thread but it's almost a year old so I hoped that newer versions than those would be supported by now.
Marc Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 As mentioned on the topic itself there, this has not been tested past version 2. Officially, its elasticsearch that is supported at present, however some do use opensearch.
Solution Princess Celestia Posted April 19, 2023 Author Solution Posted April 19, 2023 Thanks for the response, @Marc Stridgen. To give this topic closure and for others' reference, we set up Open Search 1.3.9 (the latest 1.x version at the time of writing) and it's working as expected so far. Still hoping for 2.x support eventually. 🙂 sudo 1
sudo Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Gawd this will be why I am seeing similar on my test site.
