Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
saggsab Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I used to have an IPB forum on GoDaddy, just signed up with SiteGround. I have uploaded the files into my new site but got the following message when trying to access /admin/install Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '../../init.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php74/pear') in /home/customer/www/acahc.us/public_html/admin/install/index.php on line 13 tried adding (include_path='.:/usr/local/php74/pear') to the line but get the same message, please help!
Randy Calvert Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Are you installing a new version of IPB software? If so... have you checked to make sure your host meets the requirements for it? The reason I mention this is because the 4.7.x versions of IPB require PHP8. Your path mentioned in the error code reflects PHP7.4, which is not supported. (PHP7.x is end of life and not supported by PHP itself anymore.) G17 Media and saggsab 2
saggsab Posted March 17, 2023 Author Posted March 17, 2023 It was my understanding that it is the newer version, but not 100% sure. This shows under the site download on IPB Current stable release: 4.7.8 As for the host - not really getting a lot of help, but it does look like it is PHP 7.4 and is their latest PHP. Any suggestions for more up-to date hosts, other than paying an arm & leg for IPB hosting? It's been a long time since I've been on the site so much has changed.
Makoto Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 (edited) Please make sure your file permissions for all your IPS files are set up correctly too. However, if you are running the latest version of IPS, then PHP 7 is indeed not supported anymore. As for suggestions, we unfortunately can't provide you with hosting suggestions outside of CiC here. Randy Calvert Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 By the way... just to help you understand... https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php If your host is only supporting PHP 7.4, I would highly suggest finding a new hosting provider. They're running critical software they cannot get security updates for and that is highly outdated. Tracy Perry and saggsab 2
