Where to add a script to add it to my footer?

My ad network asked me to add a script to the footer of my site. I went to the theme and added the script to the bottom of the "footer" document and saved it but I don't see it appear in my code in Chrome's dev tools. 

Is there some other place where I should add that script?

You'll need to "Clear system caches" in the ACP to see the effect.

Ok actually: I tried that, and the script still doesn't show. Is it supposed to go in the "footer" document?

OH! That's where it goes. I was in my theme's HTML/CSS editor and adding the code to the "footer" document... ok great, let's try that now.
