Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
savannahjan50 Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 Is there a way to restrict guests from searching Members? We have a hacker who keeps looking for members who have never posted; then hacking into their account and posting spam. We've tried using the 'bad word filter' to block some words that are always used in these posts, but they just sail right through them. Is there some key to using the bad word filters that we are missing? Thanks for any advice you can give.

savannahjan50 Posted February 3, 2023 Author Posted February 3, 2023 (edited) I've found search flood control. If I set this for 'days', so that the search will not initiate immediately, is this tying up server resources as the forum 'waits' for the number of days to pass? Adriano Faria Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 Did you read what I linked you to? The image shows the search module: Remove the selection from Guests in the popup that will show up when you click in the padlock. You seem to have gone to Groups since you mentioned tabs. I didn’t say or link you to Groups. Again, Take a look at Module permissions.

Randy Calvert Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 You're in the wrong spot... you're under Members. ACP > System > Site Features > Applications. There is a section called "system" under it that you click the arrow down and you'll see:
